From infant formulas to nutritional supplements, our customers are extremely diverse in their applications, which drives the need for continual research and development.

Based in Dunedin, in the heart of The University of Otago campus, Seperex is ideally located to leverage off some of the best and brightest talent for our research initiatives

In addition to the University of Otago, Seperex Nutritionals maintains research and development collaborations with leading Crown and Private Research Institutes and Universities including Ag Research Ltd (Food Science), Industrial Research Ltd (IRL Ltd), Cawthron Labs and Analytica Laboratories. 

All Seperex ingredients are "finger printed" by Oritain to protect our customers from fake ingredients.
Our Staff

Lawrence Alloo BCom - Managing Director

Lawrence is one of the founding Directors and Shareholders of Seperex Nutritionals and has been an active core investor and advisor in a number of biotechnology and health care companies and served on a variety of biotechnology industry forums. 

Lawrence is a Dunedin born and educated and also has broad experience in corporate financial systems, information technology and company investment.  

Lawrence is very passionate about the benefits Seperex's research and development brings to the general wellbeing of us all, and is actively involved in the product development programs and the promotion of products developed.

Dr Andrew Sansom PhD Pharmacology - Research

Andrew heads up our Research Division.

Andrew comes from a research and teaching background in biomedical sciences and his research has been published in respected international journals (more than nineteen publications to date).  Andrew has received a number of awards, including a Health research Council of New Zealand Post-Graduate Scholarship for doctoral study.  His current interests include lipid mediators and inflammation.

Dr Lemuel Diamante PhD Food Technology - Senior Food Technologist

Lemuel has been researching and teaching food science and technology for over 30 years in Universities in the Philippines and New Zealand. He has published 31 papers in international refereed journals in the areas of hot air drying, vacuum frying, packaging and shelf life, and food rheology. He has received research fellowships in foreign Universities, with one in the U.S.A. and two in Japan.

His current work is on ultrafiltration of dairy materials, biochemical conversion of marine wastes and HPLC measurements of proteins and other macromolecules.

Tina Wong BSc, MSc (Food Science, Technology & Management) - Asia Regional Sales Manager

Tina joined Seperex with a large wealth of expertise in food and food ingredients.  Most recently, Tina was the Asia Pacific Regional Account Manager for Givaudan, a world leading flavour and ingredients company.  Tina's experience is across all Asian countries, but particularly China where she worked with local Chinese companies and large multi-national customers such as Danone. 

Tina has a strong technical background which allows her to clearly understand each customer's technical, production and marketing requirements.

Tristin Ryalls - Logistics

Tristin has extensive experience in export logistic managment for food and health ingredients and New Zealand Food Safety Export Registration.

Prior to his involvement with Seperex, Tristin was in charge of the Logistics for a large warehousing operation.
